When I asked Caron to answer a few questions for me about herself and her business I was bombarded with a hundred amazing anecdotes. This lady lives and breathes the spirit of bohemian dreams. Caron has an extensive background with art and culture, and through this she possesses the ability to make your tea party everything and more.
The name ‘Wild Bird’ came from her affinity with animals, from dogs to doves Caron really has raised her daughters up thinking that it is the norm to see a goat chilling out on the sofa – something that I could only wish I would have had myself. Caron and her husband sold their conventional home and renovated a seriously derelict farmhouse which they still call home now, she informed me that unfortunately there are no goats here only ‘2 dogs and one dog and any wild birds or animals that stop by’. And so her dream continues…
Caron saw a gap in the market regarding weddings and parties. When flicking through Vogue and seeing the revival of beautiful china and tableware, Caron decided to team this with her baking skills to provide a complete service for large and small events. And so here begins ‘Wild Bird Tea Parties’.
After years of working with ‘the great and the good’ in London, Caron had an eye for doing things ‘properly’ and so the standard was set. Wild Bird Tea parties brings colour, uniqueness, quality and style in the form of tableware and amazing scones to the Bo Show.
Caron prides herself on the businesses openness to each bride and couple, their combined experience means that the there is no need to worry about your big day; it’s all under control. Alongside her beautiful scones and fresh strawberries, Caron also has a few tricks up her sleeve when it comes to vegan and gluten free products.
Caron’s ideal afternoon tea – Sharing smoky Lapsang Souchong tea, Champagne , smoked salmon in very fresh seeded bread and also…skinless cucumber with cream cheese in of course, the same seeded bread. Teamed with light freshly baked scones with not over sweet but rich strawberry compote, and lashings of Cornish clotted cream with fresh strawberries; all with great company, preferably outside overlooking water.
As long as Caron’s supplying us with the nibbles, Bohemian Dreams sounds like a beautiful setting.
I wish I could tell you more about Caron, her husband, her daughters and her numerous animals, but you’ll just have to visit her yourself.
