Delightfully Lavish our Bohemian Dreams very own way into the Indian summer supplying the festival with numerous marquees to catch the eye. Before running Delightfully Lavish Alex was a tree-house builder and furniture maker based on the beautiful Brighton sea front. Spending so much time outside meant that working with vibrant and colourful marquees seemed like a cool next step. Being seasonal Alex still gets to do quite a bit of his carpentry work which mixes into propmaking for both weddings and festivals. ‘Trust is everything. I know I’ve done a good job when even the mother of the bride is speechless with joy!’ Since Nicole joined Alex after leaving publishing behind her, the business has become a real family deal and with their two young kids in tow it’s never a dull moment in the run up to the busy summer months.
Supplying such a unique and desirable product means that Delightfully Lavish can be seen breaking through the scenes of not only weddings but festivals around the country too. In February we saw them in Trafalgar Square for the Chinese New Year celebrations, an event drowning in colour. We’ve seen them at Henley Regatta, the Trinity May Ball and creating the VIP area at Pride in Brighton last year; which really meant they managed to show off the more exotic and elaborate tents.
Alex and Nicole love the reactions that they get from their gorgeous tents, and I’m sure we will see a few at the Bohemian Festival.
‘As soon as guests catch a glimpse of our marquees they know that they are in for something a bit special’
The marquees and tents are all bespoke and handmade in Jaipur, you have to appreciate the work that has gone into them. The tents are all canvas and covered in stunning block printed Indian motifs. The furniture is also handmade in Rajasthan and has a genuine character to it, they have spent considerable time carefully sourcing beautiful and eye catching accessories that complement the overall vibe and add a real touch of the exotic to every party.
Alex and Nicole are always happy to go that extra mile to help achieve exactly what couples want. They informed us that last year they even designed a unique bar with the couple’s initials in! You can always expect a friendly voice on the end of the line and heaps of creative flair to personalise and add to your big day.
When asked; ‘How would our readers know that Delightfully Lavish is right for their wedding?’
‘My motto has always been “Go with your gut feeling!” When you only have five minutes on the phone with each company, you have to be a great judge of character. This is your big day and you don’t want the wrong person dictating to you! The questions you should ask yourself are: Can I work with this person? Do they sound friendly and amenable? Are they well organised and professional? Am I happy with their prices? Will they pull out all the stops to make my big day a real success?’
All in all we are thrilled to have such a creative and understanding couple working with us to create the Bohemian Dreams Wedding Festival, we can promise that you won’t be disappoint with the beauty that radiates from each and every piece of the Delightfully Lavish masterpiece!
