The BoShow road tour arrived at its last stop in Bath on Sunday 25th September at Field Good Bar. The unique wedding festival welcomed bohemian brides from all across the country to explore a whimsical, outdoor alternative to the traditional wedding fair. What was once an empty field in the hills of the West country, was transformed into a Midsummer Night’s dream with vendors showcasing everything from naked cakes, prosecco tricycles and tea rooms to tree weaving and magic!
In true wedding style cakes on the day were put on by Boho Bakery with her masterful and artistic creation of a boho naked cake that take sharp design to a new level. Want a cake that looks like it has come straight out of a glossy bridal publication then Pennie is the cake designer to contact. Also with cake designs at the utmost supreme level of caking standards was Sunflower Bakery, with a huge selection of varying styles to choose from, there was a design for everyone at this cake stand. Two leading cake artisans in the region by far.
Those with a sweet tooth were satisfied by the Sweetie Cart Hire & My Chocolate Explosions sweet bouquets. Vee Double Moo Ice Cream were there in their original 1973 Type 2 Volkswagen campervan. What a cool way to serve icecream.
For the foodies, visitors got to taste flavours that will tantalise the soul, and what great reviews! There was Mexican from The Little Taqueria and pizza from StrEat Pizza, alongside Tasty Ragga and Smoke Catering.
The main event of the festival was undoubtedly the Walk of the Meadow Bridal Show, which featured dresses from Calm Amongst the Chaos, LK Bespoke Bridal and event sponsors, Heartfelt Vintage (who also ran a hugely popular old school tearoom on the day!) Brides were spoilt for choice with designs ranging from bespoke, couture, to full skirted, sweetheart necklines and full lace bodies. The catwalk was beautifully decorated with a series of floral arches by Verdigris Wedding Venue Dressing and the music selection came from the Celebration Roadshow. The bridal makeup for the models was done by Bath makeup artist and gorgeous floral bouquets were provided by Honeysuckle florists. If that wasn’t entertainment enough, the festival also hosted Adam Richards the magician who wowed the guests and left them bewildered.
Our main feature the Shisha tent was housed in an exclusive Moroccan marquee by Smoky Tentacles. The marquee had detail that was enchanting and was the perfect chill out spot for all the festival-goers.The whole day was documented by Through the Woods We Ran photography. Cat & Kate photography, Andrew Brannan, Becky Male, Betty Bhandari, Babb photo and a mobile photo booth took the photography spotlight on the day as we know all bride and grooms want those all special memories of their big day and the photographers on the day went all out with the presentation of their stands with displays of extra large gilded frames in tiered levels to chest of drawers displaying hidden wedding photos and suitcases used as props. The boho feel was in abundance and absolutely loved.
We had the full pleasure of eyeing the wedding florists with the most beautiful displays to help brides really envision their wedding florals in all its glory. Alexandra Sylvester, Blooming Chic, Mrs J Flowers and The Midnight Gardens had an abundance of florals with stone vases blooming with mixed florals from roses to hydrangeas and lots of table displays perfect for centerpieces, aisle decor and bridal party thank you gifts. Flora Bella displayed colourful, bold boho flower crowns, perfect accessory for a Boho bride! Also joining them was Handmade Occasions & Stompie Stuff who displayed their unique keepsake gifts & fabric/paper florals.
Hair and makeup for the alternative bride was provided by Leanna Biggs and Chloe Bridal. Wedding stationery came from Knapp Studios and White Cottage Weddings who displayed some great wedding signs and orders of the day. Wedding Day Wagon made sure the alternative status of the event was cemented by providing their electric blue VW Camper Van.
The festival in Bath was a rocking success, providing brides looking for something different with access to unique ideas and products, whilst highlighting the potential of a venue such as Field Good. The BoShow summer wedding tour continues in May 2017 in Henley on Thames, see you there!
