Ahead of our outdoor wedding festivals, meet wedding stylist and BoShow vendor, Gemma of The White Emporium.
The talent’s here to talk through the top trends of 2017 – the ones you might want to work into your wedding…
1. Get Outside
Outdoor ceremonies are a great way to get creative, with more venues allowing guests to be married in the great outdoors.
What better way to start married life than against a beautiful, natural backdrop? Make the most of it with an outdoorsy setting.
2. Green Overload
Greenery -15-0343 is Pantone’s colour of the year and has caused a storm in the interior and design worlds.
Think outside the box when incorporating green into your wedding, mixing foliage and different leaves together can have a striking impact.
3. Bring Your Furry Friends Along
When you say your vows, you want all your loved ones around you – and for many people, this includes pets.
So why not bring along your furry friends to watch you say your I dos? Not only are they our dearest companions but they also help make photos super cute!
4. Snacking Stations
Create snacking and ‘help yourself’ stations for your guests to enjoy – it’s a modern way to get guests up and mingling at mealtimes.
Fill Kilner dispensers with cocktails or soft drinks, style up tables with doughnuts, meringue kisses and other tasty treats. It can be a pic’n’mix of your favourite treats.
5. Drape it
As a stylist, chiffon and drapery is my favourite wedding trend of 2017.
Chiffon is being used as everything from table runners to backdrops, and looks amazing when styled with mixed foliage – a great way to work in multiple textures.
6. Candles – More is More
Every shoot I style has an overload of candles, and in 2017 I will be styling trestle tables with brass candles sticks – a huge trend for the year.
I compliment the look with bright florals and boldly-coloured candles and use a variety of differently sized pillar candles. The results are always stunning!
