But before you grab BoShow tickets and soak up the scenic views yourself, here’s 5 things you’ll love about the location (asides our festival being on it, obvz)!
1. It’s So, So Pretty
Starting with the obvious, Culden Faw is pretty picturesque. Not only is there a river bubbling around its borders (the Thames) but there’s plenty of scenic foliage too, which as we very well know, is a huge trend for weddings this year.READ MORE: HOW TO WORK 2017’S ‘IT’ HUE INTO YOUR WEDDING
‘Greenery‘ not your thing? There’s also a bit (or a lot of) blue competing for your attention. If the weather’s permitting, the expanse of sky over the open field makes the view look magical, enhancing the landscape (and all your wedding photos!) and providing *the best* backdrop to your wedding day.
2. It’s Got Hollywood Status
The Culden Faw Estate can claim a direct link to Hollywood, being used as part of the set for top films like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, 101 Dalmatians, Into the Woods and the new Avengers movie.
Tim Burton’s film Sleepy Hollow brought the likes of Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken to the estate – right where the Woodland Lodge is currently situated!
Book said lodge as part of your ‘do …that’s if it won’t creep you out too much, re-imagining all the woodland scenes where the Horseman came to collect heads.
3. It’s a Very Versatile Venue
Calling for the outdoors? Then you’re going to love the lush green of Culden Faw’s meadows – an ace choice of location for large events involving tipis or tents.READ MORE: HOW TO BRING THE OUTDOORS ‘IN’ TO YOUR WEDDING
Fancy something smaller, or surrounded by trees? There’s the parklands for all your foresty needs.
Or maybe you’ve been dreaming of an epic wedding aisle, or of making a spectacular entry? Well, why not work with the woodland clearing? A brill choice for any procession.
If you’re seeking a cosy spot for intimate affairs or mealtimes though, the woodland lodge is the one – and of course it comes with stunning views, being surrounded by the rest of the estate.
4. It’s Eco-Friendly
Culden Faw manages over 1200 acres of forestry that includes woods and trees of historical and silvicultural importance. Trees varieties include Beech, Oak, Cherry, Hornbeam, Lime and Wild, which house a whole heap of native woodland animals.
As well as being a part of Natural England’s Stewardship Conservation Scheme to look after the land adjoining the Thames (land which is of significant ecological importance), Culden Faw is also committed to replanting and restructuring the plant life, to help nurture the forestry and wildlife.
Cuter news is that the estate is involved in the conversation of Barn Owls, working with the Bisham Barn Owl Group to place Owl Boxes around the land.
Wondering what else the venue has to offer? Explore the Culden Faw Estate yourself at our BoShow Festival event this May. We’ll bring the bubbly, the live music, games and over 50 different wedding brands, and brides just need to bring their grooms, hens, family and friends!
